Karen got her first taste of yoga as a child, practicing at home with her Mum and the cat! Though it wasn’t until 2011 that she started taking classes regularly, and finally got hooked. Pilates came along at about the same time, as the two practices compliment each other so well. She completed her training in both in 2015, and has been sharing her teachings and learnings ever since with a variety of classes, workshops, day & weekend retreats all over Ireland.
Prior to all this she worked in IT – software development, office-bound for 15 years, and now in her classes she like to explore aspects that encourage us to really get to know our own bodies, allowing them to open up gradually and release long term tensions, building strength and countering the effects of sitting and of everyday modern life.
She teaches hatha, yin & restorative yoga, and teaches all levels of mat pilates.
Karen believes that yoga & pilates are for everyone, no matter what age or fitness or flexibility, and encourages acceptance of where you are rather than focusing on goals. Her classes are strong and challenging, but with an element of light-heartedness and fun, helping students to increase their confidence, discover their potential and most importantly to be happy and healthy.
